Solar Farm called the Topaz with 9 million solar panels installed across 9.5 square
miles, is now up and running after its final 40-megawatt phase was completed, making it the first 500-plus megawatt solar plant in the US.
The construction of the $2.5 billion project began two years
ago. Initially it was expected to be completed early next year. First Solar,
The Company behind this enormous solar
project said that the plant should generate 550 megawatts,
supplying energy to around 160,000 homes.
It will also remove 377,000 tons of carbon dioxide each year.
