Mysterious
"Sea Monster" Washes Ashore In Australia
It
has a body and a mouth that resembles a crocodile
and a head of a dolphin,
this mystery creature sure had Ethan Tipper
scratching his head wondering what this
could be when he stumbled upon it at Lake Macquarie in New South Wales.
Mark McGrouther, an Australian Museum fish
saidt it could be a deceptively large pike eel – which is native to east Australia.
"This is the first time I have ever seen one of them in the
flesh," he said.
"I suspect it was caught and discarded by fisherman who got more than they bargained for when they tried to reel it
in."
The image has divided opinion on social media with some suggesting it could be a large hairtail.
Some say it is a “prehistoric” sea monster.
Others suggest that the animal is actually a species of deep-sea shark or eel.
