The ocean is home to many fascinating and dazzling creatures, and recently NOAA explorers captured a mesmerizing video of one of them. The Marianas exploration team was taking a look around the Enigma Seamount when they noticed a particularly brilliant jellyfish.

Identified as a member of the Crossota genus, the sea creature was gracefully gliding through the waters at a depth of roughly 12,000 feet. Based on tentacle and bell movement, the researchers believe the animal was in ambush mode at the time the video was recorded. The sighting occurred on April 24th. The NOAA explorers believe this is a new species of jelly fish.
