In Canada’s Northwest Territories,
an unnamed lake
broke free, plummeted and created a temporary
waterfal 5 storys high . It released the equivalent of 12 Olympic sized swimming pools.
This is a
prime example of how climate change is
altering the artic landscape.
A video below was released by the government of the Northwest Territories shows how the lake, undermined by melting permafrost, collapsed into a valley below and created a large temporary waterfall,
mud and debris field too.
